- This is a black and white photo of the Burtis lumber mill on the waterfront. The photo shows tall wooden piers and a three story wooden structure in the centre of the photo.
This structure has a ramp rising from the water up into the building through a large entrance. Another building with a tall black chimney stands to the right. Below, the water is full of logs.
- Notes
- The Burtis Mill was built in 1903 on the west shore of Thessalon. Mr. E. B. Floss was the president and Manager. The Burtis mill did a lot of contract logging and sawing.
Fire took the mill in the summer of 1912. The site of the original mill was where Carolyn Beach Motel and Restaurant now stands. - Date of Original
