- This is a black and white photo of a group of Asam basket factory buildings. The photo shows four wooden buildings, three of which appear to be connected together. Wagons can be seen near some of the buildings.
- Notes
- Mr. Joseph Asam began discussions with the town of Thessalon in 1918 and the terms were finalized in 1920 with the factory being built within the year. The factory was closed in 1934 when demand waned during the Depression.
The factory was powered by steam, that was supplied by burning refuse materials. Steam was also used for heat. There was no internal lighting. - Date of Original
