This is a white rectangular document that appears to have been used to register voters for federal elections.

The registrant - Mary C. Owens - has signed this document with her signature on the left hand vertical side of the certificate having written in where she resides.

This certificate can be found in the Tweedsmuir History created by the Sunnyside Women's Institute.

This white rectangular document reads from top to bottom: "Dominion of Canada, NATIONAL REGISTRATION REGULATIONS, 1940. REGISTRATION CERTIFCATE. This certficate must always be carried upon the person of the registrant." To the right of this contained in a boxed in area is: "Electoral District - No.90 (numbers in handwriting). Algoma East (Name)" handwritten in."Polling Division - No.73" (numbers handwritten). "Lefroy" in handwriting above "Name (if any)". Below this is "THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT, Mary C. Owens (handwritten) residing at R.R.1 Thessalon, Ont.(handwritten), was duly registered under the above-mentioned Regulations this 19 (numbers handwritten) day of August (month handwritten) 1940." Underneath this in the lower right hand corner of the photo is the signature of Catherine E. Hopper, Deputy Registrar (the latter typed)." "Mary Caroline Owens" (signature) is written on a line over the typewritten statement "Signature of Registrant," found vertically on the left hand side of the document. This photo can be found in the Tweedsmuir History created by the Sunnyside Women's Institute located at the Thessalon Union Public Library.
