- This is a black and white photo of the Main Street of Thessalon. The photo shows the corner of Huron and Main where the sign for the Sinton Hotel can be seen. On the opposite corner the Imperial Bank of Commerce can be seen.
Next to the bank is the Empire Theater (Showing the film 5 Fingers) and farther down the block is Fullertons`s Furniture and Funeral as well as Mill`s Mens wear and Mills Department store.
- Notes
- The original Empire Theater was constructed between 1915-1916 and was owned and operated by D.J. Sandie. The "Wonderland Theatre" was located on the second floor. The attached building held the Canadian Imperial Bank and Kinches Menswear, and the Masonic Lodge.
When the original theater was deemed too small construction began on a larger more modern theater that would hold 500 people. The building was also used for traveling shows and church group plays. - Date of Original
