MRS IVAR EASTMAN, JENNIE PETERSON AND JULIA ERICKSON ALSO CARED FOR THE SCHOOL. MRS.ERICKSON WAS CHAIRMAN AND JANITOR FOR THE PRESENT SCHOOL WHICH WAS BUILT IN 1954 AND CLOSED IN 1965, THE PUPILS WERE THEN TRANSPORTED BY BUS TO OTHER SCHOOLS, THE YOUNGER ONES TO LITTLE RAPIDS, AND THE OLDER PUPILS TO DESBARATS. FRANK NESTOR SOLD HIS INTEREST IN THE MILL TO HIS PARTNER, HARRY BISHOP SR.AND WITH HIS TWO SONS, HARRY,JR. AND CLARENCE, MR. BISHOP OPERATED THE MILL AS THE BISHOP LUMBER COMPANY, UNTIL AROUND THE YEAR 1922 WHEN THEY SOLD OUT TO THE J.J. MCFADDEN COMPANY WHO RAN THE MILL UNTIL IT WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE IN 1932. THE BOARDING HOUSE WAS STARTED BY A MR. PEPPLE, AND LATER BOUGHT BY THE BISHOP LUMBER CO. WHO ENLARGED IT TO A THREE-STOREY BUILDING. MANY WILL REMEMBER THE WONDERFUL DANCES AND WEDDING RECEPTIONS HELD IN THIS BOARDING HOUSE WHERE DORENA DESJARDINS, WILFORD ST.JOHN AND DAVE MACDOUGALL PROVIDED THE MUSIC UNTIL LONG AFTER "THREE O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING". THE FIRST POSTMASTER WAS JIM GASCOIGNE WHO LOOKED AFTER THE MAIL IN THE COMPANY WAREHOUSE AND STORE. THEN GEORGE CARFUEL WAS OFFICIALLY APPOINTED THE FIRST POSTMASTER OF THE TOWN. HE SOLD THE BUILDING AND THE MAIL CONTRACT TO BOB MARKLE. BILL SULLIVAN WAS THE NEXT POSTMASTER AND TRANSFERRED IT TO DAVE MACDOUGALL WHO TOOK OVER AS POSTMASTER IN 1917, HOLDING THIS POSITION FOR 43 YEARS. THE FIRST STATION AGENT FOR THE C.P.R. WAS T.E. CHICK,SUCCEEDED BY CONN DWYER AND HAROLD KING. IN 1923, NESTERVILLE INCORPORATED , AND ELECTED A MAYOR AND COUNCIL. DARCY ELLIS BECAME THE FIRST MAYOR, AND COUNCILLORS WERE: BOB CALLAHAN, JOE HICKS, JOE LATULLIPPE, HUGH MULLIGAN, DENNIS O'BRIEN & CONN DWYER. J.L. MACANDREW WAS ELECTED TOWN CLERK, JOE MARTINEAU WAS NAMED TOWN CONSTABLE AND TRUANT OFFICER. DR.V.S.GRIGG WAS APPOINTED MEDICAL HEALTH OFFICER IN 1924, WHEN NESTERVILLE VOLUNTEERED TO HELP THESSALON SUPPORT A RED CROSS HOSPITAL. APPLICATIONS WERE RECEIVED FOR BUSINESS LICENSES FROM: TOM BIRD, ALFRED SHAW AND THOMAS MCGRATH, BUTCHERS; BOB CALLAHAN, BOARDING HOUSE; BILL ROUSE AND GEORGE CRUICKSHANKS, JITNEYS; MILLS BROTHERS,AUTO LIVERY, BILL TREMELLING-MILK & PEDDLERS;MRS. POMELEAU,ICE CREAM PARLOR; ALFRED DUBOIS-GENERAL STORE ,AND JOHN LAUNDRY- BAKERY SHOP. ALEX MACDOUGALL, A PIONEER SETTLER, COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THE FIRST RADIO IN NESTERVILLE, OWNED BY "DOC" MILLS, DID NOT HAVE A GRAMAPHONE HIDDEN BEHIND IT.
