- The photograph is of Mary Brown Ray, the child is her great-grandson, Randy Edward Ray, born in Feb. 1948. Randy is the oldest son of Bailey and Verna Seabrook Ray (Bailey was the son of Jim and Winnie Bailey Ray). The photo is dated about 1949, Mary died the next year in 1950. Mary lived on the family farm with her son Jim and his wife Winnie Bailey Ray.

- The child in the photo is Mr. and Mrs. Ray's great grandson. He is the child of their son James who married Winnie Bailey. James and his family continued to work the farm until 1950 when his health forced them to leave.
