This clipping from April 1969 describes the opening of the Iron Bridge Public School that was built at a cost of $210,000.00. This school boasted the most modern conveniences at its opening including a library facility and a gymnasium.

The building was a result of continuing closures of neighboring schools and the previous multiple additions needed to house the number of students in the local area.
