DEDICATION We would like to dedicate our centennial project to the late Governor-General Of Canada, George P. Vanier. The town of Sturgeon Falls exemplifies the co-operation between French and English that Governor-General Vanier strived for throughout his life. Governor-General Vanier will long be remembered as a uniting factor within our country, as a friend of the common people, and as a fine christian gentleman. This one man captured the hearts of young and old, rich and poor in all parts of Canada. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS We would like to express out thanks to Mr. Frank Casey for allowing us to reproduce his excellent manuscript as our centennial project. We all must realize the amount of work he has done in compiling this history. This document will be remembered by us as our centennial project and by you who may re-live some fond memories.
