BELANGER, Jacqueline "Jackie" (1940-2005) — Passed away peacefully at The Mattawa General Hospital after a courageous four year battle against cancer. A lively and lovable person, she always had a smile for friends and acquaintances and a kind and compassionate word for those in need. Following her wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation will follow. A Memorial Mass will be held on August 15th at 11 a.m. at St Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Mattawa. Father Larry Rymes will officiate. She leaves behind to mourn her, a loving brother, Emile Belanger, a devoted sister Gay Clarke, close niece and nephews, Laurie, Pat and Dan Clarke, a grand-niece Leslie Clarke, a dedicated Aunt, Lyaine Dixon as well as a large circle of cousins and friends. Thanks are due to Dr. Lopez, Nurse Sharon Malkovich, the V.O.N. Nurses, Dr. Mark Wilkins and hospital staff who gave her great care and encouragement. Donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. With her positive attitude and her wry humour, she can be heard to say, "Made it to 65 in July; looking forward to those 'huge Federal cheques. Darn! C'est la vie!" Gone but never to be forgotten!
