MAILLE, Edward Raymond — November 5, 1948 - July 29, 2005 — Edward R. Maille died peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital - Scollard Site, surrounded by the people he loved; his ex-wife and best friend, Francine, his sons, Gabriel, Pascal, Raphael and Alexis, his daughter, Sophie, his granddaughter, Maylin, his grandson Tryston, his daughters-in-law, Tanya Peddie and Jennifer Sherman and his son-in-law Barry Layman. Ed was born in Dymond and grew up on the Maillé Farm in New Liskeard, Ontario. He married Francine Carrière on November 14, 1970 in Uno Park, Ontario. He is survived by his brothers, Nova and Pete, and his sisters Murielle Bush and Charlotte Oyler, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Alfred Maillé in 1974, his mother, Rachelle Tessier in 2000, his brothers Normand and Gilbert, in 1949 and two baby brothers named Yvan. Ed will be sadly missed by the Carrière family. Ed worked from 1965 to 1971 for the Midtown Shell owned by his brother Pete; at the Sherman Mine in Temagami from 1972 to 1990; and as a Taxi Driver, Car #5 for U-Need-A-Cab Company in North Bay, from 1996-2003. Ed enjoyed fishing, ice fishing and hunting, but his hobby was carpentry. Although at the end of his life he was partially blind, Ed loved sitting on his porch with his cat, PinBob, watching and talking with people who went by. The Funeral arrangements were made by MARTYN FUNERAL HOME. Cremation has already taken place and at his request, there was no service. Donations to Ligue La Leche (a breastfeeding group), 12, rue Quintal, Charlemagne, Quebec, J5Z 1V9 will be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the staff of the CCU (Dominique, Nancy, Jim, Richard, Herb and Jim Parish) who made it easy for us.

"Ed was the proud father of five breastfed babies".
