PAQUETTE, Pierre Albert, B.A. —50, Spryfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, March 25, 2005 in QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born June 7, 1954 in North Bay, Ontario, he was the son of the late Albert and Florence (Delarosbel) Paquette. Pierre attended Harvard University on full scholarship, graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at Harvard he played on the university hockey team, a sport in which he excelled. He then served as a Lieutenant with the Canadian Armed Forces. For the past 22 years he operated a taxi cab business driving with Casino Taxi in the Metro area. He enjoyed scuba diving and was a certified instructor. He was passionate about reading and quite often could be found curled up with one of his many beloved cats and a good book. He loved to travel and spent many summers at the family cottage on Tilden Lake in Northern Ontario. Pierre was a generous, loving and caring soul and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his spouse, Barb Verge, sisters, Lise Paquette (Douglas Guttridge), Vernon, British Columbia; Joelle (Mark) Leahy, Ottawa, Ontario, many other relatives and friends. Arrangements were entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville, where the funeral service was held on Tuesday. Interment will be held at a later date.
