- Photograph of Heard House on Durham Street. The white two-story is where John and his wife Catherine lived and the three-storey to the right was his workshop.
- Notes
- John Henry Heard was a carriage manufacturer and blacksmith from 1860 until his death in 1904 when his son took up the business. In the early 1900s he stopped manufacturing and simply sold those made by other companies.
