The Service Processional Hymn 1 The Church's one foundation Is Jesus Christ, her Lord; She is His new creation By water and the Word: From heaven He came and sought her To be His holy Bride, With His own Blood He bought her, And for her life He died. 2 Elect from every nation, Yet one o'er all the earth, Her charter of salvation One Lord, one Faith, one Birth; One holy Name she blesses, Partakes one holy Food, And to one hope she presses, With every grace endued. 3 Though, with a scornful wonder, Men see her sore oppressed, By schisms rent asunder, By heresies distressed; Yet saints their watch are keeping, Their cry goes up, "How long?" And soon the night of weeping Shall be the morn of song. 4 'Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of her war, She waits the consummation Of peace for evermore; Till, with the vision glorious, Her longing eyes are blest, And the great Church victorious Shall be the Church at rest. Amen. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. The Confessional of Sins Beloved in the Lord! Let us draw near with a true heart, and confess our sins unto God our Father, beseeching Him, in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to grant us forgiveness. Our help is in the name of the Lord, R. Who made heaven and earth, I said I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord, R. And Thou forgavest the uniquity of my sin. Almighty God, our Maker and Redeemer, we poor sinners confess unto Thee, that we are by nature sinful and unclean, and that we have sinned against Thee by thought, word, and deed. Wherefore we flee for refuge to Thine infinite mercy, seeking and imploring Thy grace, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. 0 Most Merciful God, Who hast given Thine Only-begotten Son to die for us, have mercy upon us, and for His sake grant us remission of all our sins; and by Thy Holy Spirit increase in us true knowledge of Thee, and of Thy will, and true obedience to Thy Word, to the end that by Thy grace we may come to everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, hath had mercy upon us, and bath given His Only Son to die for us, and for His sake forgiveth us all our sins. To them that believe on His Name, He giveth power to become the sons of God, and bestoweth upon them His Holy Spirit. He that believeth, and is baptized, shall be saved. Grant this. 0 Lord, unto us all. Amen. The introit Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
