FINANCIAL AIDS A variety of financial aids are available to Waterloo students. These include scholarships, bursaries, loans, and campus employment. Special assistance designed to aid Lutheran students includes a $100 deduction from the regular tuition fee and additional consideration for the children of pastors. The Twin Cities of Kitchener and Waterloo offer many work opportunities to students. Our Placement Office will advise you on possibilities for part-time and summer employment. SPIRITUAL LIFE Waterloo University College offers qualified students a liberal education in a community of higher learning that acknowledges Jesus Christ as Divine Lord and Savior. WUC is an educational institution of the Lutheran Church in America and is operated by the Eastern Canada Synod. Students of many religious faiths pursue their studies on this Lutheran campus. Student life at Waterloo is designed to achieve high scholastic attainment and provide an ethical, moral, and spiritual basis for life, rooted in the Christian faith. ACCREDITATION Waterloo Lutheran University as an accredited member of the National Council of Canadian Universities and Colleges, the Association of Canadian Schools of Commerce and Business Administration, and of a number of other professional accrediting organizations. It is an active member and participant in numerous professional, educational, and learned societies. THE SEMINARY Waterloo Lutheran Seminary is the faculty of theology of Waterloo Lutheran University. Three of every four ordained ministers in the Eastern Canada Synod graduated from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. Theological students from all parts of Canada and many other countries have been educated at the Seminary. From Waterloo they have gone out into all the world preaching the Word of God and administering the Sacraments. A new seminary building is being erected on the campus of Waterloo this year with money subscribed by Lutherans from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic.
