FACTS ABOUT YOUR OWN UNIVERSITY FOUNDED IN 1911 Waterloo Lutheran University, Canada's only degree-granting institution at university level controlled by the Lutheran church, developed from a small seminary dedicated over fifty years ago. Through its arts college, Waterloo Lutheran University offers a three-year general arts program, and four-year honors programs in twenty-two major fields of study. Enrollments exceeded twelve hundred last year. Waterloo's beautiful rolling campus is located in an attractive residential area. ACHIEVEMENTS Waterloo University College, the liberal arts faculty of Waterloo Lutheran University, is a coeducational college open to qualified students regardless of race, color, or creed. Since 1924 the college has produced many eminent graduates. Students from WUC have received some of the continent's highest scholastic awards. Canada Council grants for graduate studies, Woodrow Wilson Fellowships, and scholarships from foreign universities are frequently awarded to Waterloo students. The serious student can develop his potential on the Waterloo campus. SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES Basketball, hockey, and football, all have a place on the sports program of Waterloo University College. Carefully coached teams compete in the inter-varsity leagues and have made their mark in previous seasons. Under the guidance of the Director of Student Activities, all manner of clubs and groups keep the social calendar active. The A-Cappella Choir, Glee Club, German Band, and the Purple and Gold Revue, develop musical and theatrical talent. The Homecoming weekend and Ice Carnival are red letter days on the students' calendar. COSTS Waterloo University College offers an unusual value in a liberal arts education. A constant stewardship responsibility assumed by the Board of Governors has enabled the institution to offer a superior academic program at a substantial saving.
