Description
Black and white photograph of a 1968 Waterloo Lutheran University Homecoming Parade float. The theme of the float is the upcoming 1969 Winter Carnival. It features a "Klondike Days" saloon, a snowbank, and Waterloo Lutheran University students. This float was also used in Toronto's 1968 College Bowl parade and Kitchener-Waterloo's 1968 Santa Claus parade.
Notes
Wilfrid Laurier University is located in Waterloo, Ontario. It began in 1911 as the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary of Canada. In 1924 Waterloo College was established, providing courses in post-secondary education. In 1960 Waterloo College became Waterloo Lutheran University, and in 1973 changed its name to Wilfrid Laurier University.
