{LAURIER HOUSE,
OTTAWA.}

[handwritten] My dear Bezeau:[end handwritten]
It was like you to express your congratulations, not only in words, but with fruit or flowers. The box of delicious pears which arrived at Laurier House at the end of last week brought with them a remembrance of many similar expressions of your friendship on memorable occasions, and from time to time in the spring and autumn of the year.
Please accept my warmest thanks, not only for your gift, but for all that it expresses.
With my best of wishes to Mrs. Bezeau, to all the members of your family, and to yourself,
Believe me, as always,
Your friend of many years,
