{LAURIER HOUSE,

My dear Bezeau:
I was indeed delighted to receive the box of russet pears which came yesterday from you by express. It is more than kind of you to have sent me such a welcome gift. Year after year you have interwoven our friendship with garlands of flowers and fruit, and I am really at a loss to know how to thank you for your generosity, and all that it expresses of the warmth, as well as the largeness of your heart.
I hope you are very well, and also Mrs. Bezeau and all the members of your family. I send to one and all my kindest remembrances and regards.
Again with heart-felt thanks for your gift,
(verso)
Believe me,
Very sincerely your friend,
