This stained-glass window was installed by the Ladies Aid Society as a memorial for Reverend Jannau at St. John's Lutheran Church in Petawawa, Ontario. Reverend Jannau was struck and killed by a train, while crossing the tracks, on his way to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Alice, Ontario on Palm Sunday in 1930.

Reverend Jannau (1868-1930) was born in Russia. He emigrated to Canada as a stowaway on a ship while fleeing the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. He was ordained in 1925. During his career, he served a number of parishes in Ontario, including Denbigh, Alice, and Petawawa.
