Do You Realize the Extent of the Employment Given by Manufacturing? The latest Census figures of manufacturing show that there are 700,000 people employed in factories in Canada. Including their families, the number of persons who are directly dependent upon the pay rolls of Canadian factories is over 2,000,000. In addition there are a great many more engaged in wholesale and retail trade, in other business and in professions who derive their living mainly through the operation of these manufacturing establishments.
