Copy of protest
Dear Brother:-
As a member of The Ev. Luth. Synod of Central Canada, I desire to register my protest against the sentiments set forth in The Canada Lutheran, our official organ, in the editorials of the last number entitled “The Pulpit and Politics ” and Inter-Protestant Cooperation”. The first is a surrender of the evangelical spirit of our church to the legalistic spirit of the Reformed; and the second, in spite of all your elaborate argument for [?] practice, falls before the one inspired word “How can two walk together except they be agreed?”
Personally you may hold any opinions you like on these subjects, but I object to having these set forth with official sanction as the position of our Synod.
On account of them I cannot conscientiously distribute the sample copies of this issue among my people. I write this sorrowfully and with no personal feeling, but as a matter of principle.
Sincerely yours,
[signed] C.H. Little
