War Service Appeal OUR OBJECTIVE $2000.00 $1000.00 for Canadian Lutheran Commission for War Service $1000.00 for Lutheran War-Orphaned Foreign Missions Remittances to be sent to the Treasurer of Synod, marked "War-Service Appeal" THE COMMISSION SERVICES RENDERED BY THE CANADIAN LUTHERAN COMMISSION FOR WAR SERVICE 1. The Commission recommends Lutheran Pastors to the proper Authorities for the Office of Chaplain. 2. It gathers statistics as to the number of Lutheran men in the Canadian Armed Forces. The present number is 8000. 3. It supplies a copy of the Army Navy Service Book free of charge, to all Lutheran men serving with the Canadian Armed Forces. Following this appeal other tracts and booklets will be supplied. 4. It supplies Hymn Books and Communion Sets to some of the Camps. 5. It keeps in touch with Lutheran Refugees now in Canada and has been instrumental in helping several of them in pursuit of their studies.
