70TH ANNIVERSARY MINUTES ...... 1983 ANNUAL MEETING WOMEN'S AUXILIARY OF WATERLOO LUTHERAN SEMINARY Minutes of the annual meeting commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Women's Auxiliary of Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tavistock-Sebastopol, on Wednesday, September 28, 1983. The president, Mrs. Dorothy Schaefer, called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. with a welcome to all, especially those who are attending for the very first time. In the absence of the Rev. Forrest Mosher, Pastor of the church, greetings were brought to the meeting by Karl Fieldhouse, the Intern at Trinity Church. Opening hymn 231 - "O Word of God Incarnate", followed by the responsive reading of Psalm 150 and prayer. Lesson was from Ephesians 2:20, "You, too, are built upon the foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, the cornerstone being Jesus Christ himself." Karl Fieldhouse spoke of the members of the Auxiliary as workers who build the finished product by helping the Seminarians by providing for their comfort along the way. By so doing they are building the church of Christ. Each one is a brick or a stone, helping to build God's holy temple. Closing hymn 557 - "Let All Things Now Living". Dr. Delton Glebe, in bringing greetings from the Seminary, remarked that the outlook of students entering Seminary is more positive than ever. Some of them are second career people. It is also to the advantage of the Seminarians, if they can combine the academic and the practical. Enrollment: Enrollment is down slightly from last year. Comparing the years, the figures are: 1970 - 35 students 1982 - 115 1983 - 112 " Dr. Glebe announced that Synod has given permission to the Seminary to go on the territory of Synod to establish an endowment fund for the Seminary. This will be Dr. Glebe's final year as Dean of the Seminary.
