THE WOMEN'S AUXILIARY OF WATERLOO LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY The Annual Meeting of the Women's Auxiliary took place at the University's Theatre Auditorium on Wednesday, September 27, 1972, commencing at 10:00 a.m. Ushers were from St. John's, Waterloo, and Trinity, New Hamburg. Mrs. Albert Chapman, President, called the meeting to order and asked Seminarian Terry Pitts to conduct the devotions. Mr. Pitts chose as his theme James, Chapter 2, Verse 14 -- "If faith does not lead to action, it is a lifeless thing." Mr. Pitts told the members that when Seminarians think of the Auxiliary, they think of faith put into action. He said that his Seminary schooling had changed his life and that the Seminary produces ministers and not theologians. Mr. Gary Mayhood, Senior Seminarian, played the piano for the hymn singing. Dr. Frank C. Peters, President of Waterloo Lutheran University, brought greetings from the University and he spoke of the changes that will be coming during the next year. He felt that the University would remain autonomous with Provincial financial assistance, and he hoped that those who had given so much to the University would continue their support and would have a feeling that it is still their University. Dr. Delton J. Glebe, Dean of the Seminary, spoke of this year of change as one of anxiety for most of us, as change of any kind is difficult to deal with. And so, at this time, more than ever, the Seminary needs our support, both moral and monetary. Mrs. Chapman gave her report and mentioned that she represented the Auxiliary in the spring at the Seminarians' Graduation Dinner at which time eleven gift certificates were presented. Our portraits' project is now complete as portraits of all past presidents and deans are now gracing the seminary court wall. The Treasurer, Mrs. A. H. Schmetzer, presented the Annual Financial Report of the period of July 1, 1971 to June 30, 1972.
