June 20, 1955 assisted with the serving and the lunch. The roll call was then taken and 306 members responded, representing 29 churches. Mr. Gerald Hagey, the president of our institution was called on to speak at this time. Mr. Hagey spoke of the Auxiliary as being a Motherly organization and mentioned many of the personal things that had been done for the students and the institution during the past years. Since there has been so much growth in the school it has been impossible to retain a considerable amount of the personal aspects of the work but Mr. agey hoped that the interest would continue just the same. He spoke of the growth in enrollment this year and in particular of the increased enrollment of Lutheran students. This is the first year that the- Lutheran student enrollment exceeds that of any other denomination. The Christian influence in our College is accomplished through the daily Chapel services, Religious Knowledge courses, church-selected administration and the presence of our theological students on the Campus. Mr. Hagey also explained the in the past few years have included the furnishing of Conrad Hall, the purchasing of silverware, drapes and other furnishings for the new dining hall and new furnishings for both dormitories. Projects for the future were considered. Mr. Hagey reported that both residences are filled to capacity and suggested that the ladies might like to consider the erection of a new girls residence as a future project. This will entail considerable outlay so it was moved by Mrs. Fred Veale and seconded by Mrs. A. Thaler that a committee be appointed to study the possibility of carrying out such a project. Carried. It was moved by Mrs. K. Kuehnbaum and seconded by Miss Elfrieda Hartig that the executive committee appoint such a committee. Carried. The nominating committee submitted its report with the following recommendation: "because of the number of churches represented in this organization, both in the twin cities and the surrounding districts, the nominated committee would like to recommend that 6 or 8 women appointed to future nominating committees."
