Waterloo , Ont, June 200 1956. The twenty-fifth annual meeting of Waterloo Seminary and College Women's Auxiliary was held on the above date with an attendance of 3Q6 members. The business meeting was held the Parish Hall of St. John's Church and the banquet was held at Waterloo College. The meeting was opened with devotions by Mrs. Alvin Baetz, of Kitchener. Mrs. Arnold Conrad was the pianist. "We Must Serve" was the theme of Mrs. Baetz's devotions. Mrs. C. H. Doerr, the president welcomed all the members to the convention. The minutes of the previous convention were read and corrected. The bank -balance according to the minutes was $3109.63. The treasurer stated that the correct balance was $2890.6 as of May 26, 1955 The minutes were approved with this correction. The treasurer's report was given and showed a bank balance $3594.06. It was moved by Mrs. Schatz and seconded by Mrs. Ireland that the report be approved as read. A letter of thanks was read by the secretary from Miss Lois Bimm, the recipient of the scholarship for this year. Mrs. W. Gillespie presented the Promotional Committee's report. Promotional program has been in operation for about one year. To promote means to move forward or advance, stated Mrs. Gillespie and this- she said is our aim in the Auxiliary. Key women have been busy in the conferences. The reports of these women were very gratifying. Mrs. Gillespie again introduced these women to the convention group and thanked them for their work during the past year. She urged all members to support the work that is being done in our college and Seminary by the Auxiliary. It is a privilege and a duty to support our Christian institution. The president reported on the various activities of the past year. She particularly mentioned the Baccaulaureate [ Baccalaureate ] Service held on May 6th at St. Matthews Church, Kitchener and the Seminary graduation service held in Brodhagen with Dr. H. T. Lehmann, former president of the College as guest speaker. There were 9 graduates from the Seminary this year. The College graduation service and reception was held at the Mutual Life Auditorium on May 7th. It was estimated that at least 400 people were in attendance. Dr. Koerber was the speaker.
