Waterloo, June 18, 1947. The Sixteenth Annual meeting of the Women's Auxiliary of the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary of Canada and Waterloo College was held at St. John's Parish Hall with 155 members present, representing New Hamburg, Preston, Heidelburg, Erbsville, St. Matthew's-Kitchener, Conestoga, St. Jacob's, Bridgeport, Elmira, St. Mark's, Kitch. St. John's-Waterloo, Brantford, ,Guelph, Trinity-Hamilton, Hespeler, Logan, Milverton, Stratford, Listowel, Wallace, Sullivan. St. Peter's-Kitch., St.Luke's, Sunny side. The meeting was opened by the President, Mrs. Gillespie. Mrs. C. H. Doerr conducted the opening devotions and prayer. The Scripture passage was taken from Luke 1: 48-49. Greetings were extended to all members and visitors by Mrs. Gillespie. The Secretary read the minutes of the last annual meeting and they were approved as read. The Treasurer reported a balance in the bank of $2,624.82 and was approved as read. Dr. Lehmann, President of the Seminary and College spoke on the $100,000. expansion program. He said that our present facilities have been outgrown by the number of students. We are happy that the number of students who have come to us have made expansion necessary. Our program is intended to meet a need, not to present prestige. Churches throughout the Canada Synod will be asked to contribute toward the expansion find at the next Reformation Festival. While many veterans swelled the student body, the civilian enrolment has doubled itself in the past 2 years. He also said, 'We need more ministers, yes, but more veteran ministers." A technicolor film, 15 or 20 minutes long, will illustrate how seminary and college life can be brought closer to the people. He concluded his address by extending every blessing and success in our work. Miss Emma Schorten thanked the speaker. The Women's Auxiliary Scholarship was awarded to Miss Leona Nabert of Arnprior. It was moved that a card of sympathy be sent to the Frank family. Letters of appreciation from Miss Nabert and Miss Foran were read, A successful Auxiliary Tea was held at the home of Mrs. Gillespie on April 27. 1947, It Was moved and seconded that all bill be paid. The Revised Constitution was read by the Secretary. Following the Roll Call and Conference Delegates reports Miss Marion Axford, Dean of Women, was introduced by Mrs. Gillespie. Miss Axford tod of life in the temporary dormitory opened last September. She said they all feel it is their home from September to May. Thank you for the girl's dormitory and hope you will keep on doing what you have be to further the comforts of the girls. Mrs. Axford
