June 19, 1946, The Fifteenth Annual meeting of the Women's Auxiliary of the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary of Canada and Waterloo College.was held at St. Johns Parish Hal 1, Waterloo, with 153 members present. The meeting was opened by the President, Mrs. Gillespie. Opening devotions were conducted by Mrs. H. Mosig. Greetings were extended to all members and visitors by Mrs. Gillespie. Greetings from Mrs. J. Flegler, of Altoona, Pa., Mrs. Cargela of Sault Ste. Marie, and Mrs. Peters of Montreal were extended to the women. The Secretary read the minutes of the last annual meeting an were approved as read. Letters of appreciation from Dr. Klinck and Rev. Raymond were read. The Treasurer reported a balance in the bank of $2258.89 Mr. Roy Grasz of the seminary gave a report on the activies of the Lutheran Student Association. He told of the development of Church leadership, religious study, and recreation. Greetings from the Co-eds and their appreciation of the Auxiliary's work were expressed by Miss Margaret Fackoury. She also said a residence would be heaven to the co-eds. They are very proud of Waterloo and will also be very proud to to say this is my Alma Mater. She also described the work of the Athenaeum Society as the "Social Medium" of the College. The Students Legislative Executive fuctions were outlined by Miss Janet Lang, exeoutivetreasurer. She termed it "A medium between the faculty and the Student Body." The speakers were thanked by Mrs. Gillespie. _Mrs. Walter Klinck gave an interesting account of a two day convention of the Womenn's League of Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary and College. Dr. Lehmann , President of the Seminary andCollege referred to the important roll the College could play especially in Lutheran circles. He stressed the need for having a definite and worthwhile objective. He related his talk to God's statement to Moses -"The place whereon thou standest is holy ground." He said- "We are at a particular place at a particular time, led here by God's grace, and we can continue to render a service to God and His servants". He pointed out that the fine buildings and equipment alone were not enough. I am convinced we _must have a teaching staff committed to the christian way, he said. He was thanked by Mrs. Carl Klinck. Mrs. Lloyd Moser appealed for furniture for use in the Lutheran Camp at Edgewood Park. It was moved that the Auxiliary have letter heads printed. ^
