Description
Wilfrid Laurier University news release regarding spring convocation 2008. John A. Pollock will be installed as chancellor during the ceremony. Robert Rosehart, Lorna Marsden, Fred Nichols, Lloyd Axworthy, Graham Greene and John Kim Bell will receive honorary degrees. Faculty members Stephen Connor, Camie Condon and Mary-Louise Byrne will receive Awards for Teaching Excellence. Jim Beingessner will receive a Governor Award. Includes schedule of events.

Wilfrid Laurier University is located in Waterloo, Ontario. It began in 1911 as the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary of Canada. In 1924 Waterloo College was established, providing courses in post-secondary education. In 1960 Waterloo College became Waterloo Lutheran University, and in 1973 changed its name to Wilfrid Laurier University. Laurier Brantford opened in 1999.
