Description
Wilfrid Laurier University news release announcing the launch of the Library's new fund raising campaign. The Library won Laurier's 1997 Tamara Giesbrecht Award for fiscally responsible innvoation and used the $1000 prize to commission two paintings of the building by local artist Peter Goetz. The paintings were used to create prints, notecards and bookmarks that will be sold to raise funds for book acquisitions.

Wilfrid Laurier University is located in Waterloo, Ontario. It began in 1911 as the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary of Canada. In 1924 Waterloo College was established, providing courses in post-secondary education. In 1960 Waterloo College became Waterloo Lutheran University, and in 1973 changed its name to Wilfrid Laurier University. Laurier Brantford opened in 1999.
