Notes
Laurier Brantford's first community art project was created under the direction of local artist and gallery owner Marguerite Larmand. Thirty-five members of the Laurier Brantford community helped create the 140 square foot project. Participants were given the same collection of patterned and plain cloth, and using the themes of "lines of communication" and "social fabric," created a two foot by four foot square. Larmand then sewed the individual squares into seven vertical columns of five squares each, requiring one to six hours of labour per square and a total of 178 hours for the whole project.
