- Colour photograph of the Wilfrid Laurier University float in the 1986 Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade. The float features the band "Mixty Motions" and images of the University. The Golden Hawk mascot is walking beside the float. In front of the float, an actor portraying Sir Wilfrid Laurier is riding in the back of a red antique car. Crowds of people are watching from the sidewalk as the parade moves along King Street. The Ali Baba Steakhouse is in the background.

- Wilfrid Laurier University is located in Waterloo, Ontario. It began in 1911 as the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary of Canada. In 1924 Waterloo College was established, providing courses in post-secondary education. In 1960 Waterloo College became Waterloo Lutheran University, and in 1973 changed its name to Wilfrid Laurier University.
