The proceeds will be used towards the purchase of "Freddie the Fracture Finder", X-ray machine, for the McCausland Hospital. What Is a JAIL & BAIL? Persons from within the communities of Schreiber, Terrace Bay and Rossport are charged with a fictitious offence. They are served with a summons to appear in a mock court, in answer to the charge. Prior to appearing in court, the accused is given a set fine, i.e. $100. It is the responsibility of that person to raise this amount of money from friends and relatives before the court appearance. The accused will bring this money to court on September 26, 1992. In the event that the accused was unable to earn this amount of money, he/she will then have a mock trial. The accused is then provided with a telephone from within a jail cell, and will attempt to raise his/her bail. The JAIL & BAIL will be held at the Terrace Bay Curling Club on September 26, 1992 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The accused will appear in court at this time. A jail cell, a court room, a judge, prison clothes and a spectators area will be set up. All monies pledged by an individual will receive a taxable receipt. Our local TV, channel 13 in Terrace Bay will be covering this event.
