Page 7, News, Tuesday, May 12, 1992 Career Day held at Terrace Bay Public School by Darren MacDonald The News Students at Schreiber and Terrace Bay Public Schools had a Career Day last Wednes- day, part of the schools' Edu- cation Week activities. Grade 7 and 8 classes attended presentations from a number of local employers, printing, insurance, mental health, Ministry of Natural Resources and Confederation College. Career Day was organized by teachers Becky Elgie and Derek Watt. Watt says that Career Day gave students a chance to learn what their options are, and what kind of ' education they would need for a particular career. "The students have many choices to make," says Watt. "On the whole, I'm pleased with the attitude they showed toward the presenters." The grade 8 students also had an orientation day at Lake Superior High School. PE ah, Terry O'Neill (top) talked about the insurance business; Sheila Kostecki (above left) talked about pharmacy; and Const. Dave Smeltzer talked on law enforcement.
