I appreciate both your let- ters and the opportunity to reply. I apologize for the tardy response, but I was away snowmobiling. Terrace Bay Ski Club Certainly the initial cost of being outfitted for the sport of snowmobiling may be higher than skiing, although most snowmobilers keep their sleds for a number of years thereby amortizing this expense. Also, I had no intention of making a com- prehensive sport-to-sport cost comparison for initiates to either sport in this article as that was not the point. Please remember that the context is "the weekly news- paper column for snowmobil- ers", so I am writing primari- ly for those who are already into snowmobiling and have made their sled purchases. The point of this column was to persuade these local snow- mobilers that they would be better off by joining an OFSC Club for a one time annual fee that compares very favourably with what it costs to participate in many other recreational activities-- including skiing.
