In other words, it's a laissez- faire policy, not unlike the one followed by the late Chairman Mao Tse-tung during China's Cultural Revolution, where he called for "a thousand flowers to bloom" in local government structures. So that's where Ottawa is coming from, as Canada defines this new relationship with aboriginal people. In the next installment, the last in this series, we'll describe the principles Queen's Park says it's going to follow, as self- government negotiations take place. Carolyn's 4 Critique 2 MyBlue Heaven: Steve Martin, Rick Moranis Ce TD i cxsipcstditaitwess gecuneadews coesboper' 10 excellent While this movie wasn't as funny as one would expect from the T.V. commercials, it was pleasant enough to pass an evening with. Steve Martin is Vinnie, a small player in the Mob game until he agrees to testify against his bosses. The F.B.I. hide him in the Witness Relocation Program. Rick Moranis is Barney Coopersmith, the Fed who takes Vinnie to Fryberg and sets him up. You'd think everything would sail smoothly now, right? Not so! Vinnie is a city slicker to the max and he can't handle life in a nice quiet, little town. He proceeds to keep himself very busy indeed. He gets arrested; gets a newly single Barney to meet, and fall in love with, divorced assistant district attorney Hanna Stubs (Joan Cusak); starts up a crime ring; teaches Barney the Maranga; testifies in court; scams money that is meant for the little league team; gets Hanna mad at Bamey and finally gets arrested again. Does Vinnie got to prison or talk his way out of it? Do Hanna and Bamey get back together? What happens to. the Little League team now? All this is answered in the movie and I suggest you find it out. This role is perfect for the flamboyant and slightly off- the-wall Martin and he plays it to the max. Rick Moranis does his usual nerd routine with perfection. The supporting actors all give fine performances and even the smallest role is believable. This movie was expertly cast (which is half the battle in a movie) and I think the theater audiences let a good one slip through their hands. If you missed it there, rent it. You'll be pleasantly surprised. I give My Blue Heaven an 8. rtquascabeu Aguasabon Ladies Golf Club The 1991 season is in full swing with an average of 32 ladies participating every Tuesday night.
