"Plague savaging the world" There is a plague savaging the world, causing untold suffering and death. The last group of doctors are based in Atlanta, Georgia. With this movie you don't need a scorecard. The bad guys are called pirates and the good guys are called slingers. Gibbson Rickenbaker (Van Dame) is a slinger with a heart of gold, who has seen too much hate and destruction in his time. He runs into Pearl Prophet, a cyborg, who is running from a pirate named Fender Tremolo. (Aren't these just the cutest names you have ever heard). Pearl has a formula that will cure the plague and Fender wants it in order to rule the world. Fender captures Pearl, and the formula, and makes his way to Atlanta to, as he says, become a god. Gibbson tries to stop him, but for his own reasons. Years ago Fender brutally killed his lover and little brother and took her younger sister as a prisoner. Now it is across-country race with a lot of fighting along the way. Does Fender become a god? Does Gibbson get revenge? What about Pearl - is she alright? Who cares. This movie leaves out so many important details, the end is really superficial. Why are the doctors in Atlanta as opposed to any- where else ? Who does Pearl work for? Why did she allow herself to be changed from a human to a cyborg? Particularly since the only advantage it seems to. have given her is shocking people when she takes her wig off and _ shows them her brain - or should I say motor.
