By Angie Saunders The News There is no one as innocent or trusting as a young child. That is why it is so important to instill strong values and morals while a child is still young. Safety rules Children should be taught safety rules by parents. They must know they should not accept candy, money or even talk to strangers. Any parent who has experi- enced a lost or abducted child knows the frantic feeling of not knowing whether they will see their child again. Last weekend a Child Find Identification Program was held in. Schreiber at the Chimo Club. . Schreiber O.P.P. put on the pro- gram in conjuncion with U.T.U. (United Transportation Union) and B.L.E. (Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers). Parents filled out a card with personal information about their child. The child's height, weight, hair and eye colour, and distin- guishing marks were marked on -the card. The card is taken home with the parents in the event the - child is ever lost or missing. The whole office of the Schreiber O.P.P. participated in the program. The policemen took fingerprints and ipa of the children. "If a child is lost or taken, then we have some up-to-date photos to help us out", said Constable Bert Logan. "We have to do this every two and a half years because the kids change. They'll look different in grade eight than they look in grade six." fe. : \ DIANNE O'NEILL « A COMPLETE INSURANCE SERVICE COMPETITIVE RATES FOR QUALITY COVERAGE TERRACE BAY INSURANCE LTD. * Home * Business * Auto * Cottages * Recreational Vehicles * Etc.
