Photo by Angie Saunders We hate to see you go Well, on the topic of everyone going back to school, The News is going to be losing a reporter. We're sure going to miss Monica Wenzlaff. It's been a really great summer at The News. We thought we'd let you in on a few things that Monica has accomplished over the summer. Monica anxiously learned quite a few aspects of the news- paper business. Besides report- ing, she helped out with the pro- duction of the paper and advertis- ing. Monica is a perfectionist. Everything she writes and pro- duces in the paper has to be up to her standards. She almost lost it when she wrote in a wrong name under a photograph. One of the highlights of her summer was her interview with Mike Harris. After we peeled her off the ceiling she told us he had taken the time to phone her by cellular phone from his campaign bus in London, Ontario. One thing Monica has a knack for is taking great pictures. Since Angie would rather drink castor oil than take pictures, we're glad she's so good at it. Her specialty is taking children's shots because as she put it... she hasn't grown up yet. ; Now there's a few strange things that'Monica always does. She lives for junk food. Almost everyday we see her stuffing two chocolate-covered donuts down her face. She seems to have a small problem hitting her mouth though. Often we've heard her say, "I need a bib, a full-body bib!" We guess that could be why she does laundry so often. We can't remember how many times she's said, "I'll just finish this one article then I have to put my clothes in the dryer." She must have more clothes than Princess Di. : Monica is returning this week to school - Ryerson Polytechnical Institute, one of the most highly praised journalism schools in Canada. This will be her second of three years. We wish her all the best. The News Staff Newfie Fun Night in Terrace Bay Saturday Sept. 8th 7:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Everyone Welcome!
