If you can help us out, please call the Rec Office at 825-3542. Summer Aerobics- Gwen Black will hold aerobics classes August 6 to September 10 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday evenings. Deadline to register is Friday, August 3. Register by calling Rec Office at 825-3542. Fireworks- Canada Day Fireworks display was postponed, due to weather conditions. It has now been rescheduled for Sunday, August 5. The Fireworks will start after dark. Buses will start running every 15 minutes from the Rec Centre, starting at 7:00 p.m. Be sure to come out and enjoy the Fireworks Display. Schreiber Rec Summer Playground- Great events are tkaing place at the Public School everyday. Crafts, baseball, soccer, painting and a lot more. There's no need to be bored this summer. The munsters enjoyed a great hike to Schreiber Beach on July 26. The walk was super, the games fun and the food delicious. All thosse who attend- ed can hardly wait for the next hike. Check the board at the pub- lic school to see the exciting com- ing events. Ballroom Dance- Dolores Niskannen of Thunder Bay will be in Schreiber on September 22nd_ and 23rd to instruct the art of Ballroom Dance. Learn 'the polka, waltz, tango, and many more. The course will run Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday morning and after- noon. For more information or to register call the Rec Office at 824-2317. The Sault Youth Theatre- Schreiber is in for a great perfor- _ mance of the Sault Youth Theatre. The group will be in Schreiber on Wednesday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rec Complex to perform "not as Hard as it Seems". This is a play about the great hidden problem of illit- eracy in our schools and society in general. On the week of July 15- 21, 1985, approxiamtely 2,000 peo- ple helped celebrate 100 years since the CP Rail town began. The celebrations included a parade, dances, bingo, a beer bash, and arts and crafts displays. Ronnie Hawkins performed at the Schreiber Arena for the spe- cial occasion. Fireworks were held on Walker's Lake and continued for 40 minutes. CP featured a display of a Centennial train, with four main MED display cars, which carried histor- 60 bsGshAi Tse D ical railway exhibits, displays and a scale model of the railway's Roger's Pass Project. Winnie Campbell, longtime resident of Schreiber said of the occasion that there were balloons everywhere and the Centennial Cake was the largest she'd seen.
