Programs Swimming Program- The Pool opened on July 7th. the July session of lessons started on July 9th, with all the classes filled. We hope to see this turn-out for the August session. The "Swim the Slates" program has started, so if you're interested in getting in shape, come out and join us. Schedules can be picked up at the Rec Office. Pool staff are Jody Speer, Khris Turpin, Shannon Moore, Keli Turpin, Sandra McDougall, Shane Jowitt, and Debbie McDougall. Summer Playground- Our summer playground is in the full swing of things. We started on July 2nd, with many energetic and great children. Ernie and Bert has 30 participants, Tot Lot with 31, and Summer Day Camp has 37. The turnouts have been great. To date we have been cre- ative with playdough, sand pic- Terrace Bay Rec tures, and floating boats. The children have visited the Library and Employment Centre for Students. We have had Treasure Hunts, watched movies, and spent a great day at Mini-Putt.. If you would still like to register, please drop into the Rec Office. This year's staff include Jeff Mikus, Cindy Sopel, and Stacey Wallwin. They invite you to share a great summer with them. B.O.0.M. Program- This year's Sailing program will take place on Monday, July 30th, Tuesday, July 31st, and Wednesday, August Ist. Terrace Bay and Schreiber will each have 10 young sailers participating.To see our 7- 13 aged sailors in action drop down to White Sand Beach in Schreiber. Canada Day- We hope that everyone enjoyed this year's cele- bration. Tourist Information Centre- Our T.I.C. opened on June 29th at Terrace Bay Scout Hall. We have had 68 vehicles and 2 bicycles so far. A total of 204 people from Canada, United States, England, Japan, the Netherlands, and Scotland have visited Terrace Bay. Deadline is Friday, July | 20th at 4:00 p.m. Summer Playground- Many exciting things are happening at the Public School each and every day. The children attending are making crafts, playing baseball, soccer, floor hockey, etc. and ----Schreiber Rec News even having quiet days watching super movies. On July 19th, the children will be going to the local Police Station and a trip to Schreiber Beach is also planned for the near future. So kids, if you're getting bored, there is no need to be. Stop by the recreation office or the public school and register for Summer Fun. Ballroom Dance- That's cor- rect! Ballroom Dance is making a return trip to Schreiber. Dolores Niskannen of Thunder Bay will be in Schreiber on September 22nd and 23rd to instruct the art of Ballroom Dance. Just ask any of the partic- ipants that danced the weekend away in April what great fun and excercise the course was. This will be a refresher and introducto- ry ession.
