Page 11, News, Tuesday, April 10, 1990 Terrace Bay Ringette The Terrace Bay Tweens (12&13 year olds) and Belles (14 to 17 year olds) finished the sea- son on a winning note when they returned from Geraldton with the gold and silver medals, respec- tively, in their divisions. The Tweens earned their medal in a hard-fought game, on Sunday, March 25th against long- time rival Longlac. The Belles earned the silver medal playing in the final game against a more-tested team from Thunder Bay, a team which they had tied in round-robin play. Earlier in the winter, on the weekend of Feb. 23i25, the Terrace Bay Ringette Association sponsored a tournament for the Petite (10 & 11 year olds) and Novice (6-9 year olds) in which Terrace Bay's 3 players in the lat- ter division played for our-of- town teams. Two of those 3 ended up with gold medals playing for Longlac; and the third received a silver medal for helping out a Thunder Bay squad. The Petites ended up in 2nd place in their division, while Longlac captured the gold. The highlight (and heart-stopper) for the Petites, however, was their down-to-the-wire, 9-8 win over Thunder Bay in their opening game. Talk about fan support! Many thanks to John Gray for organizing the tournament, and to the other tournament officials (Fred Hnatuk, refereeing; Heather Vandergaff & Lise Hnatuk, billet- ing; Cathy Withers & Theresa "woly Weel Serucces 14t the Community Church in Tenace Cay and St. Audrew's, ta Sehneiben.
