Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Lyn McLeod Minister Jeanne Marcella hangs a plaque in honor of Ev Knauff. Photo by Angie Saunders A tribute to librarian Evelyn Knauff It is with great pleasure that the Terrace Bay Public Library is installing a plaque in Ev Knauff's memory which will hang in the library as a reminder of her many years of service. Ev volunteered her services to the library for many years even to helping with bookmobiles in the very early days. She was a library trustee from 1959-1967, assistant librarian 1967 and head librarian from 1975 until her retirement in 1985. RICHARDS Wayne and Fran are thrilled to announce the arrival of their daughter KELLYAN LISA MARIE, weighing 3 [bs., 9 oz., on Januadry 5, 1990, at Ottawa General . First grandchild for both Rejean and Jacqueline Fortier and Jack and Shirley Richards. The library moved to the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre in 1963 and to its present new loca- tion in the complex on October 17, 1981. The Rec Complex was réno- vated in 1980 and we moved to temporary quarters during con- struction. Everything had to be packed and set up in the building. where the Police Chief's office is now located. One year later we packed again and moved into our present location. It was a monu- mental job that went smoothly thanks to Ev's patient guidance. This is only one of many con- tributions Ev made towards improving library service in our community. We have come a long way from the early days of the bookmobile. The successful library that we enjoy today is, in part, due to the efforts of Ev Knauf.
