Wednesday, May 31, 1989 TERRACE BAY/SCHREIBER NEWS Women of the Moose Terrace Bay Chapter 1426 Women of the Moose held their installation with 22 co-workcrs present. The new executive for 1989-90 are: Elected Officers - Senior Regent - Shirley Laing, Junior Regent - Bernice Pytyck, Chaplain, Sherren Kraehling, Recorder - Sadie Benko, Treasurer - Jean Bozec. Appointed Officers - Guide - Anne Stachiw, Asst. Guide - Yvonne Mallais, Sentinel - Trixie Bursey, Argus - Vicky Kostiuk. Chairman - Academy of Friendship - Kay Furyk, Membership - Annette Landry, Publicity - Carol Gugelyck, Child Care - Carollea Kenny, College of Regents - Alma Hart, Mooseheart - Heather Sechesky, Star Recorder - Helen Almos, Social Service - Lise Hnatuk, Library - Benita Vaillant, Moosehaven - Sharon Kennedy, Hospital - Marianne Kostiuk, Pianist - Clara McDonald, Ritual Director - Jacqueline Sopel. Senior Regent Shirley Laing thanked the installing officers and presented cach with a gift. Sadie Benko presented the voluntecr of the year to co-worker Jean Bozec. Lovely lunch was enjoyed by all following installation. The Academy of Friendship Chapter night meeting was held on May 7th with 19 co-workers present. Due to the absence of Academy of Friendship chairman Kay Furyk co-worker Carmel Zborowski chaired the mecting and introduced members on the committee. Academy of Friendship cere- mony took place with Carmel Zborowski presenting Jean Bozec with her Friendship Ring. Enrollment took place wel- coming a new member into the defending circle. Vicky Kostiuk was the co-worker for the month of April. Members were in favor of helping serve and clean up at the Brownie and Guide Banquet at the hall on June 4th. Thank you letter was read from Canadian Red Cross Socicty. Pot of gold was won by Vicky Kostiuk. Following adjournment co-work- The North Shore Fun Run was held Tuesday, May 23. Terrace Bay took third place overall with 22 per cent of its population taking part in the run. Winnie's Scribbles By Winnie Campbell The géneral monthly meeting of the Chimo Club was held on May 19 with President, Ken Davis, in the chair. Secretarial and financial reports were read and approved as given by Helen Jartus and Pat Guina respectively. A minute's silence was observed in respect to the memory of Mima Duggan. Eva Gordon gave her Card Secretary's report having sent sympathy cards and received sev- eral Thank You notes for same. Bingo report for May was given by Pat with four winners of the Home Bingo: Susan Fairservice, Paddy B'gon, Ann Etches and Shirley Major. Margaret Tiboni will be in charge of the HOme Bingos for the summer, and June tickets are available. The Senior Games to be held in Thunder Bay on June 12, 13, 14. Registrations for these are due by May 29. The Peace Run will be going through Schreiber on Monday, June 5 at 5:30 p.m. and as many seniors as possible are invited to take part in front of the Municipal Building. The annual "Eldorobic Moon Walk" is to take place between May 26 and June 4 for the seniors and registration forms are avail- able at the Club. Any exercise or walking is eli- gible for mileage. Beth Macadam is the convenor for the Moon Run. The annual Club Picnic is slat- ed for July 12 at Rainbow Falls, or July 19 in casc of rain, with Fred Harness as convenor and Beth Macadam as co-convenor. Other helpers will also be required. The annual Church Service will go to the Baptist Church this year, and members attending will go back to the club after for lunch. Winnie Campbell will look after getting lunch assistants: Irene Kettle spoke briefly on behalf of the Lifeline Committee and the Club decided to hold a raffle of a lawn chair, donated by Al Slater, and Rena Ross to look after the tickets. Draw to be made at the Picnic. ; All proceeds from this draw will go towards the Lifeline Fund. Fred Harness thanked all those who had helped at the Cystic Fibrosis Telethon: Eirene Harness, Beth Macadam, Betty and Martin Ryan and Margaret and Jack Handel. Birthday greetings were sung to Russ Macadam, Mary Ihnatko, Mrs. Cataford, and Alma Hart. Lunch was served following the meeting, and members played shuffleboard and cards. Shuffleboard winners were: Alex Gordon, Myra Holmes, Etta Gray and Marg Handel. Door prize was won by Winnie and Etta - A Trip to Hawaii - Ha! Next meeting will be June 16. _C.W.L. meeting was held on Sunday evening with a good turnout.
