Page 2, News, Wednesday, December 14 , 1988 Ballard's Birchwood news I hope you have all been out enjoying our weather, sure does not look or feel like Northwestern ONtario at this time of year so let's make the most of it. We were all happy to have our gal Mina back after a two week R & R. This place is just not the same OPEN UNTIL CHRIS TMASI! From Tuesday thru Sunday 12-5p.m. Friday nights till 9 p.m. ROSSPORT 824-2106 "A nice Sunday drive" without Mina, welcome back Mina. It's starting to look like Christmas around the Home. Decorations are going up and already there has been several par- ties in the Rec room here and not doubt there will be more. The Ladies Auxiliary of Birchwood were here on Thursday afternoon. After a short business meeting the ladies had their Christmas tea for the residents and each one of the residents received a X-mas gift from the auxiliary. On behalf of all here at the home I would like to thank these devoted ladies for all the work they do all year for us. We hope to have them for many years to dome -- God bless them all. I notice there are still some folks who let their dogs run around loose. I saw two large golden retrievers on Simcoe Plaza, this is not only bad for folks walking around but with the traffic your dogs could be killed. There were also two other large dogs running around the hospital parking lot. Come on folks, please obey the by- law. While I was walking in town last week I saw a sad disgusting sight -- a bag of garbage broken open and spread over the ground between the post office and the drug store. Please, whoever did this, use the trash cans or better still Deadline for Jan. 4/89 DECEMBER 19 Frosty's Daily Rate excess @ 17d per km pennant Se $19.95 per day Includes 100 free km's TILDEN Christmas Special ARAL ANN Se Rudolph's Weekly Special $198.00 per week Includes 1000 free km's excess @ 17d per km Any ava f ~Reserve NOW for best selection and drive a safe & happy holiday. 824-2043 Effective December 16, 1988 until January 2, 1989 (except trucks) ilable vehicle Lifeline Thanks to all who helped with the phone survey for Lifeline and to those who took the time to discuss this Emergency Alerting System.
