We also have many-- services, especially police and fire services, which are in need of con- stant change. Regardless of size, all improve- ments require large sums of capital. We must tap all levels of government to assist us with these projects. Above all, we must show good fiscal planning and responsibility. I would like to continue serving you on Schreiber Town Council. George Ramsay George Ramsay, a 40-year resident of Terrace Bay, first came to north- western Ontario in 1946 after service in Canada and overseas during World War II. A long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, he served as 1st Vice-President for both Schreiber and Terrace Bay branches. During the 1960's, Ramsay became active in the Pulp Sulphite Union, holding a number of offices including the office of president from 1964 to 1965. He was a union mem- ber for over 30 years. Other involvements include: mem- ber and Chairman of the Recreation Committee, and School Board trustee and Chairman during the 1970's for a total of eight years. Ramsay was first elected to Town Council in 1976 and served a total of 10 years. He is presently serving as Reeve. He is currently involved as a mem- ber of the Terrace Bay/Schreiber District Futures Committee, the "Lac" Northwest-ern Ontario Local Advisory Committee to the Minister of Employment and Immigration, and is on the Budget Committee for Children's Aid in Northwest-ern Ontario.
