Could apply in person to Vickie at the Red Dog Inn Night watchman position is still open. 825-3286 Recreation News Terrace Bay The fair is booked to capacity with numerous new booths. There are a total of 55 booths occupy- ing the floor surface. The fair includes art craft displays, information on programs and com- munity groups, Science Centre, Baking, Jams, Fashion Show and much much more. The fair opens to the Public at 12 noon, Sunday September 15th and re- mains open until 5 p.m. Exhibits are reminded that set up time is between 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. noon. Access to the building is by the back doors of the arena. Once again there will be three placques awarded to the top three best decorated booths depicting the theme "Year of the Youth'. Judging will be done by residents of Birchwood Terrace. C.F.N.O. will hold a live on site broadcast and will be talking to visitors at the fair. Drop by and have a chat with the folks from C.F.N.O. radio. Hope to see you all at Fall Fair 85 in the Terrace Bay Arena. Terrace Bay Opening of Fitness Trail -The Terrace Bay Recreation Committee with the assistance of Govern- ment Funds have con- structed a fitness trail for the enjoyment of the residence of Terrace Bay and Area. The Terrace Bay Fitness Trail consists of a trail ap- proximately '2 mile in length situated in a natural environment adjacent to Curling Club Parking lot. At intervals of 100 to 200 feet, areas are cleared and exercise stations are available for use. Signs of each exercise station in- dicate which exercise is to be performed. One either jogs or walks from station to station. The trail provides an op- portunity for physical ac- tivity in a pleasant natural surrounding. Its objective includes enjoyment, in- creased physical activity and overall Physical Fitness and Health. The -trail is there for your enjoyment please use and respect. If equipment is damaged in any way would you please report to Recreation Office. Schreiber Martial Arts and Dance Classes Schreiber Parks and Recreation in conjunction with the Tri-Perfection Martial Arts and -Dance Inc. will be offering in- struction in the following: Karate, ages 7 and up; Super Stretch, ages 11 and up; Self-Defense, ages 18 and up; Prekinder Karate; ages 5 to 7; Tap and Jazz ages 9 and up; Ballet; ages 7 and up; Prekinder Dance ages 3 to 5. Combination; ages 5 to 8 and Co-ed Jazzercise ages 18 and up. Classes will be held each Monday evening commen- cing in late September at the Recreation Centre and will run for six weeks. Liquor Management Policy The Recreation Depart- ment with the assistance of the Alcohol Research Foundation will commence development of a liquor management policy in September. Ice Time All groups requesting ice time for the 1985-86 season are reminded of the meeting to be held Wednesday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m. It is our intention to have the ice ready for October 14th. Skate Exchange The Schreiber Parks and Recreation Department is planning a Skate Exchange early in October. If you or anyone you know would like to get in on this please keep watching this paper for specific times and dates. : Babysitting Course The Recreation Depart- ment will be offering a Babysitting Course in Oc- tober. The course: is designed to provide train- ing for babysitters in child care, child behaviour and safety and to outline the obligations and rights of babysitters and employers. It is open to girls and boys ages 12 and over. For more information and to register please contact the Recrea- tion Office at 824-2317. - Superior Tumblers The Superior Tumblers will be holding their registration at the Terrace Bay Fall Fair on Sunday September 15. Additional registration will take place on Wednesday September 18 and Thursday September 19, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., at Lake Superior High School in Terrace Bay. The fee for a single membership is $25.00 and each additional family member will be charged $15.00 There will be a 12 week session and the program is for children aged 18 months to 16 years old.
