Helen Hogan Yes, we will be participating. We've already planted flowers and extra plants on our property and are working hard to get the grass green. Beautification Week sounds like a good venture for the Town, especially since it is Schreiber's 100th Dave Richardson I plan to participate in Beautification Week. I live in an apartment so have no. yard to tend to, but will help around town whenever and wherever I can. Charlie Holmes I always do my best to keep my house and yard neat. There are quite a few places that need to be cleaned up and this week should give them the boost they need to do it. Philip Doyon We clean up our yard every spring and fall. I think Beautification Week is a good idea and I plan to help my friends with yard work, if they need it. The Ministry of Natural Resources Fire Fighting Force includes; 170 five- person unit fire crews, eight heavy waterbombers (including two provincial- ly owned CL-215's and six leased cansos). The CL-215's are the only aircraft ever designed primarily for fire fighting. Schreiber Parks and Recreation Committee will be part of a national fire fighting fleet. ; Canso_ aircraft which have been used by the Ministry since the late 40's, are amphibious twin engined aircraft capable of dropping 800 gallons of water. There are five twin otter crafts capable of fire bom- bing with 230 gallons of water for a four hour period. Five birddog crafts, nor- mally turbo beavers, are used for carrying the per- son in charge of air attack over the fire area. These aircraft are used to monitor air traffic, radio com- munications and direct bombing runs. Leased helicopters in- clude a variety of types such 'as medium weight 204, 205,'212, 214 or lightweight helicopters such as Hughes 500's and Bell 206L and A-stars. Fif- teen are used for water- bombing, aerial detection, infrared operations, per- sonnel/cargo transport and reconnaisance. Leased Astec twin engine detection aircraft are numbered at nineteen and are used for detection of fires. Extra assistance is also obtained on a reciprocal basis from other provinces. The statistics covered from 1978 to 1983 in- dicates 40 percent of all Police Report Over the past two weeks 10 speeding tickets have been laid, some local and some highway traffic. Other Highway Traffic Act infractions also resulted in charges being laid. One report of wilful damage to a vehicle was reported there being no suspects at this time. Terrace Bay Police assisted in locating a travelling motorist due to urgent family matter.
