Schreiber Scribbles by WINNIE CAMPBELL Chimo Club The Chimo Club held their regular meetinz on Friday October 19th with -- president Fred Harness presiding and 32 members present. Mr. Pat Guina gave the treasurer's report and reported 158 paid up members. Marg Gerow gave the Bingo report for October. For some strange reason some folks did not believe me, so I decided to tell them I fell off a Polo pony. They did not believe that either so I'll stick to the truth - a bowling injury. Last Saturday we at Bir- - chwood Terrace had a very enjoyable afternoon when we had our "Open House"'. A very nice group of people came to have lunch, after which they were shown a slide film showing what the Home has to offer Senior Citizens. There were also guided tours of the building. Everyone seem- ed to enjoy themselves. We also had members of the Board of Directors for the Thunder Bay District Homes for the Aged. We were pleased with the number of people who came and helped make a success of our day. I hope you have your Halloween goodies ready for our small fry and also the "'not so small". I guess I had _bet- ter forget about going around this year. After all I guess I am past that age. So kids, have a fun night but please be careful. Watch out for cars so we can have a safe night. And now for my bite. People who use Bir- chwood's parking lot at any time please make«a point of reading the signs posted at various places. One morn- ing last week a car was parked too close to the main entrance. Seems it had a flat tire but that is still no excuse for what happen- ed. The Ambulance was needed for one of our residents and the car was parked in a way that made it difficult for the am- bulance to drive up to the main entrance. Please take more care in the future and do not block the main en- trance. The signs are posted.
