If you have not been noti- fied as to the times of your activity please con- tact your respective coach or executive. The following are the open skating times for the coming season. . Monday 1:00-2:00 p.m., Tuesday 3:30-4:30 p.m., Wednesday 2:00-3:00 p-m. and _ 7:00-8:00 p-m., Thursday 10:30- 11:30 p.m., Friday 1:00- 2:00 p.m., 7:00-8:30 p-m., Saturday 1:00- 2:00 p.m. Open Bowling: New times for open bowling are as follows: Wednesday -- 6:00-8:00 p-m., Sunday 2:00-4:00 p-m. Youth Bowling: We are still taking registrations for the Youth Bowling League. This league is open to girls and boys ages 7 to 15 years. Instructions will be given on Satur- day, October 6th at 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon. The league will com- mence play on October 27th at 10:00 a.m. Call us today to register. Cycle Touring: How can we think of this now? Now is the time to begin preparing for Cycle Touring in 85. Bill Houston has shown an interest and we will be accepting adults names of those who are interested. Winter months are used for conditioning, bike maintenance etc. Give us a call if interested. New Hours for Squash and Racquetball Courts: Squash and Racquet- ball court times are as follows effective Octo- ber 12th/84. Courts are booked every 45 min- utes. A.M. 9:45, 10:30, 11:15. P.M. 12:00 noon, 12:45, 1:30, 2:15, 3:00, 3:45, 4:30, 5:15, 6:00, 6:45, 7:30, 8:15, 9:00 to 9:45. Centre closes at 10:00 p.m. Note: Squash and Racquetball Annual Tournament for adults, novice to experienced October 26, 27, 28th. Register by October 22nd. Cost $8.00 per person, guaranteed 2 games. Programs: We regret to inform you that the program "Favours from your Freezer' will not be presented by the Min- istry of Food and Agri- culture this season. We are still taking names for "'Wise Money Manage- ment" and "Sewing for your child". Dance Fitness for Be- ginners (afternoon class) Wendy Landry will be our instructor for an afternoon dance Fitness Class. This course will commence on October 30th and run Tuesday and Thursday until De- cember 6th. Schreiber Basic Computer Course Due to the large num- ber of registrations for this course, we will be offering it on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 and also Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. Classes will be every Monday and Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00. Reg- istrations are now being accepted at the Recrea- tion Office. If enough interest is shown in this program classes _ will commence Monday, October 22nd and run 'to December 17th. Arena News : The Schreiber Arena officially opened its doors to start the 84/85 season on Monday, Oc- tober 15th. The Rec- reation Department would like to remind all groups to come in and sign for their ice time requests for the season and also that all special event requests must be submitted by Wednes- day, October 31st in writing to the Recrea- tion Office. Mom and Me The Schreiber Mom and Me group meets every Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 in the Art Room of the Recreation Complex. For more information contact 824-2745. Art Club The Schreiber Art Club meets every Mon- day at 7:30 p.m. in the Art Room of the Com- plex. For more infor- mation contact Coleen Glad at 824-2485. Ringette Jamboree Update The Ringette Jambo- ree Committee met Oct. 11. Meal plans are un- derway and we will be looking for additional help at the Saturday supper and Sunday lunch. The Entertainment Committee has_ several activities planned for the girls attending in addi- tion to the many Ring- ette activities. Our Games Convenor needs more timekeepers and scorekeepers. C'mon all you brothers and Dads...we could use your assistance here! Please call Linda Feal- zetta at 3533 if you can help in this area. Our billet Committee needs homes for the 120 girls expected to attend. Please call 3280 after 5 or 9085 anytime if you can take a billet. Jamboree Committee Members please note that we will be meeting weekly on Oct. 17, 24, 31, Nov. 14 and 21 at 7 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Terrace Bay Rec- reation Centre. The Jamboree will take place November 23, 24, 25. Help make it a success. High School Literacy Contest. Canada Post Corpor- ation has announced that high school liter- ary competition is in progress. The compe- tition, which was opened on September 17th, will continue until November 30. The objectives of the competition are to fur- ther public education of Canada Post Corpora- tion by encouraging con- tinued interest, dis- cussion and research re- lating to postal service and the role of the cor- poration within the community and the na- tion while promoting ex- cellence in writing skills within our society. _ Categories of compe- tition include grades ten, eleven and twelve with awards being given to first, second and third place winners in each category. Judging will be done by a panel recruited from universities, com- munity colleges, and private sector company management who will be joined by a represent- ative from Canada Post Corporation. The panel will complete the judg- ing of entries during De- cember, 1984. An- nouncement of winners and presentation of awards will take place in January, 1985.
